Our sunset engagement photoshoot on the rim of the Linville Gorge began with meeting Abby and Joe at the trailhead. This was one of the rare occasions where our clients chose one of their favorite hikes for the session and they led the way up to the top. Abby and Joe are both avid hikers and runners and they made it up the strenuous hike in no time flat with us barely hanging on. The added bonus of the location having significance to their relationship seemed to amplify the emotions that they feel towards one another. It was a dream to capture on camera.

The mountain was ravaged by a wildfire a few years ago and with blackened dead trees rising out of the green new growth, the top of the mountain makes for a unique setting. In fact one of the dead trees near the cliffs edge is home to one of Abby and Joe’s favorite hangout spots and we are able to capture some photos in that location. This mountain offers one of the most breathtaking views of Linville Gorge and it served as the perfect backdrop to the love and laughter shared by the happy couple that day.
