Rhubarb Event Space and Wedding Venue

We cannot say enough about this wonderful establishment. Rhubarb is a beautifully rustic farm-to-table restaurant situated in the middle of downtown Asheville. Their event space is located in a separate part of the building from the dining portion. This intimate space provides a secluded and private area in which to hold your event.

The room is constructed with a rustic elegance, bringing together exposed brick, concrete walls, wood paneling, and gorgeous original hardwood flooring. The high ceilings and large windows adds a spacious feel and brings in majestic lighting in the early to late afternoon and into the summer evenings. The setting does not get any better than this to celebrate your intimate wedding.

The space boasts a seated capacity of ninety people and can provide sturdy farmhouse-style tables along with other accoutrements for you and your guests. One of the biggest bonuses is that when they cater your event, it comes from the talented kitchen staff at Rhubarb that makes some of the best food in all of Asheville. They offer two different menus with plenty of different options designed by renowned chef, John Fleer. They also have an extremely talented pastry chef that can help you design your dream wedding cake or wedding dessert. To top things off, Rhubarb’s event coordinator, Elizabeth, is an absolute dream to work with. She is professional, accommodating, approachable and she goes above and beyond to make your day as special for you as possible.

With all of the venues in and around Asheville, this one tops our list for a reason. There is just something about this space that cannot be put into words.  You will definitely not regret choosing Rhubarb to celebrate your big day!

Lady Luck Flower Farm Wedding Venue

Lady Luck Flower Farm is one of if not the most spectacularly beautiful places to hold an intimate wedding in the entire region. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the farm resides in Big Sandy Mush, just outside of Leicester, North Carolina and is just a thirty-five minute drive from Asheville. Lady Luck Flower farm is a family owned organic operation that specializes in flowers and medicinal herbs along with pasture-raised animals and some vegetables.

The venue can support up to 150 guests with multiple spots available for outdoor ceremonies as well as an option in case of rain. Certain event packages even offer use of a renovated cabin from the 1800’s to get ready in or for the couple to stay overnight. Other amenities depending on the package can include: use of pavilion barn and dried flower barn, handmade farm tables and chairs, a fire pit, and parking for up to eighty cars. The venue also allows vendors to set up the day before the ceremony which is a huge perk for the vendors themselves.

Of course, one of the best parts about getting married on a flower farm are the nearly unlimited options for flower arrangements for your intimate wedding. The farm provides several options for flower packages including ones in which you are able to pick your own buckets. With the breathtaking fields of flowers, renovated historic buildings, and the surrounding scenic beauty of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, one would be hard pressed to find a more lovely spot to tie the knot

Homewood Wedding Venue

The next spot on our list takes us back closer to downtown Asheville in the Montford Historic District Area. Homewood is a 1920’s stone manor that was lovingly restored and turned into a wedding venue. Surrounded by the eclectic and elegant houses of the post-Victorian neighborhood, Homewood stands out due to its dazzling stone exterior, castle-style turret, high sloping roof, and stunning surrounding grounds. The interior of the manor is no less impressive with its massive stone fireplaces, cherry-wood walls, and lovely original hardwood.

One of the best aspects of this venue is its versatility. Almost any portion of the wedding can be held either indoors or outdoors with up to 150 guests. Outdoor ceremonies are held in their lovely Garden Ceremony Site, while indoor ceremonies are held in the Great Room in front of the exquisite Appalachian Stone Fireplace. Cocktail hour can either be held in the classically cozy Study or in the newly unveiled outdoor cocktail area.  The venue also provides any and all rental items for your wedding and reception as well as a comprehensive list of amazing required and preferred vendors.

Homewood is also the only venue in Montford that provides overnight guest parking which is great due to its proximity to downtown Asheville. You can be close to all of the sights and sounds without any of the hustle and bustle during your actual ceremony. If elegance and grace is part of your vision for your intimate wedding, Homewood is the perfect place for you.

Longleaf Vineyard Wedding Venue

Heading back out into the surrounding Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina, the next spot we would love to recommend for your intimate wedding or elopement is Longleaf Vineyard. Celebrating your wedding at Longleaf has many wonderful perks with the location being perhaps the best one. In terms of weddings with a view, it does not get much better than this spot. The ceremony site enjoys a backdrop of their lovely boutique vineyard followed by stunning views of the surrounding mountains that seem to stretch out endlessly.

The venue has all of the facilities and furnishings you could ever need for your intimate wedding. The property includes: A “Bride’s Cottage” where the bridal party can get ready, a lovingly constructed ceremony site complete with Pergola that overlooks the vineyard, a spacious, covered pavilion for cocktail hour, and a large white tent complete with chandelier for receptions. The venue can support up to 150 guests and provides tables, chairs, and other necessary items for the ceremony and reception. There is parking available for up to 40 cars and plenty of wonderful lodging options off property that are available to rent as well as Asheville being so close by. Of course it should go without saying that they produce several different varieties of wine that can be made available for your intimate wedding or elopement.

Longleaf Vineyard has created one of the most spectacular outdoor wedding experiences in the region. With its stunning views, delightful wines, and charming structures on the property, the versatility of wedding styles available is unrivaled. If you are searching for a venue that has a peaceful atmosphere, stunning views, and delicious hand-crafted wine, look no further than Longleaf Vineyard!

JuneBug Retro Resort Venue

For our last (but not least) venue recommendation, we are going to go in a slightly more eclectic direction. This next spot is for the couple that has a penchant for the vintage. JuneBug Retro Resort is an outdoor vacation and venue spot located a very convenient 12 minutes from downtown Asheville. One of the most exciting aspects of the venue are the ten campers from the 1950’s that have been lovingly restored and are available for vacation and wedding rental. These campers can be rented by the evening or the entire group can be reserved for a wedding weekend as places for the bridal party and guests to stay. These can accommodate up to 30 guests. The eleventh camper on the property has been completely overhauled and repurposed as a luxurious bath-house for the guests to use. There is tent camping available on the property as well.

In addition to the amazing vintage campers at the heart of the operation, the venue has many other amenities to help make your intimate wedding a huge success. The venue boasts a large high-top tent for reception and dinner, a catering tent, 900 square foot Brazilian walnut cocktail deck, dance floor, a wedding arbor, and their own event lighting capabilities. They also have dining utilities able to accommodate up to 200 guests and parking for up to 100 cars. The venue goes above and beyond with additional amenities exclusive to their operation that include: a 1950’s Ford farm truck that can be used as a band stage, vintage tractor for photography uses, 50’s style playground, and fire pits. The venue also has large tents that they can deploy in case of rain. The newest addition to their already extensive list of perks is a 1960 Airstream clam shell dry bar that can be used for your event. The possibilities are nearly endless at Junebug Retro Resort.

Out of all of the things a couple must arrange for the big day, picking a venue can be one of the toughest. This is especially compounded by all of the wonderful places to choose from here in Asheville and surrounding areas. We put a lot of thought into providing a venue list with emphasis on variety so that hopefully there was at least one spot that would vibe with every type of bride and every type of wedding. We sincerely hope that this list helps you in your decision making as you plan for one of the biggest moments of your lives. Happy hunting!
