For the first time in the 2020 season, we were able to shoot an engagement session at Craggy Gardens on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lauren and James are photographers themselves and photographing other photographers is always super fun for us. Lauren likes to capture birds and other wildlife and James is a connoisseur of sunsets. It was a refreshing and easy hike up getting to know Lauren and James along the way.
Once at the top the clouds rolled in and threatened rain. Fortunately, the waterworks held off and we were instead treated to bouts of fog and wispy clouds that caressed the mountain sides behind the intimate couple as they cuddled on the rocks and danced in the grass near the overlook. We don’t always get a stunning sunset on our shoots but that just means that we get to enjoy a different type of beauty and the stark colors brought out by cloudy day light.
