places to get married in detroit

The November wedding of Brad and Jayne Weiss took place at the lovely Secrets Playa Mujeres resort in Cancun, Mexico. The sun drenched days and the warm and breezy evenings in view of the Pacific Ocean set the tone for this destination wedding.

The entire weekend was one long celebration. Friday evening kicked off with an introductory party welcoming the guests as they arrived, Saturday was the main event, and Sunday was spent relaxing poolside with the guests that chose to remain one more day. One entire block of the resort was reserved so that the hundred or so close friends and family of the soon-to-be newlyweds could spend the weekend close to one another.

The day of the wedding went off without a hitch. The forecast had called for rain for most of the day. We kept our eyes to the skies as we went through the day but the rain insisted upon holding off. The ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. The rain that decided to pass us by helped soften the light and provide a refreshing breeze. The indigo tinted clouds behind the ceremony seemed to compliment the colors of the wedding itself. After the vows were spoken, rings exchanged, and the bride kissed, everyone made their way to the reception hall to dance the night away.

It is hard to not gush about Brad and Jayne. They were so very warm and inviting to us the entire weekend. Every time they saw us around the resort they would ask us to hang out with them. They made us feel like we were part of their weekend and we cannot thank them enough for that. Couples like them make photographing a destination wedding feel like a vacation with friends.
