Brilliant October sunshine fell down upon the banks of Wilson Creek at the Brown Mountain Beach Resort where the wedding of Maia Hutt and Mike Fotinatos was held. Brown Mountain Beach Resort is a historic recreation area dating back to the late 1900s with the ruins of the old mill structures dating back even further. There is even a restored prohibition era speakeasy located in the basement of the main lodge with a working bar.

The ceremony took place right on the sandy beach area as the sun dipped over the ridge of the Wilson Creek Gorge. The venue set up heavy repurposed pews facing the water and the couple exchanged vows to the calming sounds of the creek and surrounding nature.

Afterwards the reception was held in the lodge and the guests enjoyed a delicious meal with cuisines from Maia and Mike’s Greek and Georgian heritage. After the meal, a super talented Bluegrass band jammed away as the couple and their guests cut a rug under the soft lights of the venue. The entire event had an old-timey feel to it and the wedding party ended the night with some drinks in the old speakeasy. Maia and Mike went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and we enjoyed the entire affair as much as the guests did. We will never forget this beautiful wedding!
